Thank you for your interest in joining Nottinghamshire County Council and helping us shape the lives of our residents as our new Deputy Director of Public Health. This is an exciting time in the County’s history, and we are looking for a talented individual to help shape the future.
Investing in Your Nottinghamshire, Your Future
Nottinghamshire is a great place with a great change story to tell. We’re looking to build on our track record of improving the health and wellbeing of people in all our communities and reducing inequalities. As one of the Country’s largest County Councils, we’re passionate about our role in shaping places, securing healthy, green and prosperous communities and continually improving everything we do.
“We do things differently in Nottinghamshire and we want to reach out and attract a workforce who think differently and value working collaboratively.”
From the Civil War to Robin Hood, the Pilgrim Fathers to D. H. Lawrence, Byron and Ada Lovelace, we do things differently in Nottinghamshire and we want to attract a workforce who think differently and value working collaboratively.
This is both an exciting and challenging time to be joining a progressive and ambitious Council, focussed on responding to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the new opportunities now emerging.
Our vision is for a Nottinghamshire where everyone can live healthier and happier lives, to prosper in their communities and remain independent in later life. This involves working together to give every child the best start in life, ensuring everyone can access the right level of support to improve their health, creating healthy and sustainable places, and keeping our communities safe and healthy.
To deliver this we are looking for a system leader to drive improved outcomes on a range of agendas. Working in a political environment, you will be a skilled influencer with a range of stakeholders including Councillors, colleagues from across the local NHS and district and borough councils, commissioned service providers, and the voluntary sector. You will exercise leadership in the complex and dynamic partnership contexts of the Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System and Health and Wellbeing Board. You will bring innovation, pace and an engaging style that empowers colleagues to deliver great outcomes for Nottinghamshire.
